Investment is sought among a US Council of 200 companies

During the presidential visit to the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, a Honduran delegation will have meetings with the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU).
This international organization promotes trade between business leaders and governments around the world. The BCIU registers 200 member companies, among which Apple, American Airlines, Coca Cola, Estée Lauder, Pfizer, 3M, Kimberly-Clark, Hasbro, Lockheed Martin, MetLife and Oracle Corporation, and other notorious organizations, are highlighted.
According to Honduran officials, this meeting will provide an opportunity to establish relations with senior executives of the most prestigious multinationals.
The Honduran delegation shall convey the National Program of Economic Development Honduras 20/20, a public-private initiative that forecasts investments of more than $13,000 million and the creation of 600,000 jobs in the next five years.
This Business Council, founded as an initiative of the White House by President Dwight D. Eisenhower (1953-1961) has built strong relationships with many foreign governments and multilateral agencies.
At the meeting between the BCIU and the Honduran delegation, President Juan Orlando Hernandez will explain how using the 20/20 plan seeks to boost tourism, the textile industry, the manufacturing and the service of business support.
