Central America will create a regional law of free competition
Categoría : Central America
To take advantage of the Association Agreement between Central America and the European Union, the Central American countries have compromised themselves in creating a harmonized Free Competition regional law by 2020.
The agreement with the European Union poses an important opportunity to increase business exchange between the two regions; but it also demands the fulfillment of free competition to attract investment.
“The law will give life to the Central American authority of free competition, which will be able to act in a coercive manner to attack anti-competitive practices that occur in two or more countries.” explained Alberto Lozano, member of the Commission for the Defense and Promotion of Competition of Honduras (CDPC – fort its Spanish name).
