
DOMAIN NAMES REGISTRATION IN HONDURAS
The
entity in charge of these matters is called NIC-HN DOMAIN REGISTRATION
CENTER OF HONDURAS
The
documents needed for the registration of a domain name are:
1. Letter of Authorization to a local firm for securing the registration. This letter must come in the stationary of applicant and must indicate the local firm’s name as responsible billing and local contact persons before the said office.
2.
Copy of the Certificate of
Incorporation of the applicant.

The above documents do not require Consular legalization.
The
registrations will be valid for two years (renewable)
The
official document attesting to the registration is called “MEMBERSHIP
CERTIFICATE”.
The
costs involved are:
US.
$100.00 covering the MEMBERSHIP cost.
This cost and the first US. $50.00 covering the maintenance for the first year
of the domain name registration must be paid within 30 days counted from the
filing date of the domain name registration application.
US.
$ 50.00 per year covering the maintenance of the domain
registration. Attorney fees for preparing, filing and securing the MEMBERSHIP
CERTIFICATE range from US. 150.00 to US. $200.00
The NIC-HN
DOMAIN REGISTRATION CENTER OF HONDURAS recommends that in addition to
the registration made in its offices, said domain name must also be registered
as a trademark.
The
domain name registration procedure takes one or two months.
